These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Tidywell mobile application and tidywell-app.com website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by Tidywell, a UK-based sole trader. Contact: tidywell-app@zohomail.eu.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Tidywell independently. Children under 13 may only use the Service through a parent or guardian's account in kids mode.

3. Your account

  • You can use Tidywell anonymously without an account
  • If you create an account, you are responsible for safeguarding its credentials
  • You must provide accurate information
  • One person may not create multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits

4. Free and paid tiers

Tidywell offers:

  • A free tier with full core functionality and limits on rooms, virtual home items, Live Sprints per day, AI task breakdown per day, and photo storage
  • A premium subscription that unlocks the full feature set for your entire household

Subscription pricing is shown in-app and may vary by region. One subscription covers all members of a household.

4.1 Billing

Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We never see your card details. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled.

4.2 Free trial

Premium subscriptions may include a free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged the full subscription amount.

4.3 Cancellation

You can cancel any time through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain premium access until then.

4.4 Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their respective policies, not by us directly.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything illegal
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • Abuse the AI task breakdown endpoint to run unrelated workloads
  • Scrape, spam, or overload our infrastructure
  • Share subscription access outside your household
  • Use the Service to harass other household members or post abusive content in task names, notes, or photos

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of any content you create in Tidywell — task names, notes, photos, household configurations. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you.

7. Intellectual property

The Tidywell name, logo, design, illustrations, code, and content on the marketing site are our intellectual property. You may not copy or reuse them without written permission.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available 24/7 but we do not guarantee uptime. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, subject to applicable consumer protection law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not liable for loss of household data caused by you deleting your account or device

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability we cannot legally exclude, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or consumer rights that cannot be waived.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create a safety risk to other users. On termination, your data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in-app at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer protection law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local jurisdiction.
