Insights and minutes cleaned
How your week is tracked, and exactly how "minutes cleaned" gets worked out.
What's actually happened, not just what's left
Insights is where Tidywell shows you what's actually happened, not just what's left to do. It sits under the Profile tab and covers your week's tasks and minutes, your streak, how clean each room is, and, on Premium, a full household dashboard.
How to get there
- 1
Open the Profile tab.
- 2
Tap Insights in the menu.
- 3
To leave, tap the back arrow in the top-left corner.

How minutes cleaned is worked out
This is the part worth understanding properly, since it's the one people ask about most.
There's exactly one rule behind every minutes figure on this screen: if a completion has a real recorded time attached, that's what counts. If it doesn't, it falls back to the task's own estimated minutes, the number you set when you created or edited the task.
- A plain tickon Today or in a room, doesn't record any time at all. It counts at the task's estimated minutes, every time.
- A Sprint tickcounts the real gap since your last tick (or since the Sprint started), down to the second.
- Focus Modecounts the real time you spent, but it's capped at the task's own estimate. Go over, and the extra time simply isn't credited.
- Spin the Wheelwhether inside Focus Mode or on its own, doesn't record any time either, so it counts at the estimate like a plain tick.
- A kid's completion awaiting approvalis written down immediately with whatever time that path recorded. Approving it later only changes its status, never the time.
So if you've been ticking things off without a timer running, the number you see is your own estimate for that task, not a stopwatch reading of what you did. That's deliberate: without a timer, your estimate is the fairest stand-in Tidywell has.
Two things follow from minutes being worked out live rather than stored at the moment you tick something off. Delete a task, and every untimed completion of it drops to zero minutes, including old ones. Change a task's estimated minutes, and every past untimed completion is revalued at the new number next time you open Insights.
Which completions count
"This week" is a rolling 7 days counted back from the moment you open the screen, not a Monday-to-Sunday week. Only your own completions count toward it, and toward "Your bests", even though some of the labels say "Household".
"Your bests" has no time window, it's meant to be all-time. If you're signed in, though, it's built from the most recent 100 completions across your household, so an older account may not reach all the way back to the start.
Good to know
- Free gives you This week, Room health, the Weekly recap, Your bests, and Past weeks, all in full. Premium adds ten more cards: Fair Share, effort minutes per member, Cleaning Personality, a time-of-day heatmap, a 12-week streak calendar, a room neglect leaderboard, a best/worst rooms trend, task type mix, a predicted messiest day, and a more detailed Room health.
- The Weekly recap card is free for everyone, it isn't part of the Premium gate.
- Household day streak, Household longest streak and Household coins all show your own figures, not a shared household total. The label just switches to "Household" once there's more than one person in your household.
- A pending or rejected kid's completion still counts in "This week" and "Your bests". Only Weekly Wrapped waits for approval.
- Do it again adds a second, separate completion each time, so a repeated task, and its minutes, are counted twice.
- There's no way to manually edit a completion's recorded time, and nothing on this screen can be exported, that lives inside Weekly Wrapped instead.
"This week" versus Weekly Wrapped
These two can show different numbers for what looks like the same week, and that's expected rather than a fault:
- Different week > "This week" is the rolling last 7 days; Wrapped uses the Monday-to-Sunday week.
- Different people > "This week" is yours alone; Wrapped covers the whole household.
- Different completions > "This week" includes pending and rejected kid completions; Wrapped counts only approved ones.
